Dear MOCRA Member,

I have now sent out the emailed invitations to everyone who has given us an email

address. Some have bounced straight back to me. Others will be rejected because of the

menu and agenda attachments. If you have not received an email from me please check

that we have your current email address, that it hasn’t been sent to junk, and that

attachments from me are permitted. All of the details are below, and attachments on the

website and Facebook page.

I am delighted to announce that the MOCRA AGM this year will take place on Saturday

22nd November 2025 again at the RNLI College in Poole. The venue will be ours from

6pm, and the meeting will begin at 6:30pm. The AGM will be followed by dinner and prize

giving, plus a talk by Andy Claughton. Andy has had a full and varied career in the world

of sailing as a naval architect, working as chief designer for Ben Ainslie Racing and now

working at the ORC. It promises to be a fascinating talk.

Dinner comes at a cost of £42.50 a head. There is a menu choice and payment must be

made in advance. I therefore ask that you get your menu choice and money to me no later

than Thursday November 6th. Please email me at melanieholder23@gmail.com with your

menu choice, and make your payment of £42.50 via paypal using AGM 2025 and your

name as a reference, or a bank transfer of the same amount and reference. Please do

remember to put your name as the reference as every year I have to try to match

unnamed payments to menu choices!

Hotel rooms are available at the venue, and a limited number of these will be available at a

discounted rate. Just mention that you are attending the MOCRA AGM that will take place

there on contacting the hotel. Tel: 0300 3007654

This year’s trophies will be handed out at the AGM, and we sincerely hope to see trophy

winners at the AGM to be able to congratulate you and give you your trophies. There are

a number of trophies out there which need returning. If you are able to return these it

would be much appreciated. Should you be in possession of a trophy but not know how

best to return it please let me know. Thank you.

It is now coming towards the end of the sailing season for many of us. We would love to

have reports of the sailing you have done that we can share with your fellow MOCRA

members in the MOCRA Review. The Review is one of the things that members say they

value highly, but we need your contributions to share. A contribution might be anything

from a couple of paragraphs and a photo upwards. All articles will be published providing

that they arrive with us by Christmas. Time is needed to collate and prepare for

Tuesday 11th June to Thursday 13th June

Racing commences at RVYC – after a 4 race series, there is a passage race to Bembridge, with 3 further races hosted by BSC.

A group of West Coast of Scotland multihull sailors have joined up, under the auspices of MOCRA, to have a Rally, lasting 3 days, beginning on 20^th August. The start will be in the Oban area, and we are now in the process of developing more detailed proposals. We currently have 5 boats from performance trimarans to cruising catamarans. The objective is to meet like-minded people and have fun. There is no entry fee and no requirement to belong to MOCRA. If you are interested in being involved at this planning stage, or participating on these dates, please contact me on gordon.baird@me.com.
